Yes this is old as hell (obviously) but I re-stumbled across this the other day and felt I’d be doing you nappy headed hoes a disservice by not sharing.
This is easily one of the hottest award show performances in recent years. X, Banks, Papoose and Eminem just straight murdered it. How the hell this nigga did a performance like this and still flopped is beyond me.
I can tell ya one thing tho… Busta is prolly thinking “No more G-Unit collabos… them niggas crazy son”.
Benzino was kicked out the Source, crushed in his rap battles and got his ass sued off but he’s kept moving. His Hip Hop Weekly magazine is already reportedly turning a profit and with a new mag (Monsta) on the way, he claims he’s grown up and ready to move on (from beefs):
“Eminem and 50[Cent] have been in Hip Hop Weekly,” he said. “I’ve learned to separate my personal issues to an extent. I understand who I am and what I say. I’m never gonna be PC, I’m always gonna speak my mind. They’re still monsters in the game. I’m sure you’ll see them getting coverage in there. Hopefully we can get 50 on the cover and get a good feature with him.”
When asked about Eminem and his recent health issues, Benzino even offered Em a little friendly advice:
“Being famous takes on a great deal of pressure and people deal with things differently,” he emphasized. “If I had to give him some advice, I’d say that being by himself isn’t the answer. If music’s what he loves, keep doing that and don’t worry about the bullsh*t.”
Cashis stopped by Shade 45 today (8/21/07) to kick it with Rude Jude and somehow, the subject of Kanye’s recent comments came into discussion. Apparently Kanye claims he’s the best and able to “eat” (no homo) anyone in the game except Lil Wayne.
Now, I don’t even know where to begin to pick apart that statement (Kanye a lyricist? Lil Wayne being his only competition?), but not only did Cashis shoot ‘Ye down (stating that Em is the best in the game, and he ain’t outselling fif), but listeners called up to call Kanye out stating, among other things, that he is not a lyricist and that if he’s going to claim to be the best then he shouldn’t “bend over” to anyone by making exceptions.
Cashis went on to claim that Kanye didn’t even write his own shit. According to Cashis, Common and Consequence write most of Kanye’s material and that, coupled with his ghost producers is the reason he’s blown up.
We know this is all industry talk to promote the upcoming albums from both camps (Cashis is signed to Shady Records), but those are some serious allegations. What do you folks think?
*Update* Since some are finding it hard to believe that Kanye doesn’t have ghost-producers… here’s some proof from his own banged-up mouth (no homo)
