Jim Jones Has Impressive Debut

-Wednesday, February 27th, 2008-

This is CeleBully, and traditionally, we’re supposed to poke fun at public figures and their follies, but we’re not without our shining moments here. Jim Jones has actually impressed us with the first week numbers on his mixtape release.

Jim Jones released the mixtape “Harlem’s American Gangster” around the time that Jay dropped his album and only recently decided to hook up with Koch and sell it in stores.

For a mixtape that basically got no buzz anywhere except Harlem and the internet, selling 22,058 copies in the first week is very impressive.

Congrats Jimmy, maybe you aren’t a one trick pony afterall.

Jimmy Plans Album With Styles; Threatens to Bark on Jay

Jim Jones still isn’t on speaking terms with Killa Cam but he’s making moves of his own. Jones reveals that Diplomatic Immunity 3 is in the works and that he has a special collabo album coming up:

Jim Jones and Styles P yesterday (December 16) announced that they will be releasing an album together via Koch Records during an interview with British hip hop radio host Tim Westwood on BBC’s 1Xtra.

“Me and Styles got an album coming out,” Jones revealed. “The Ghost and The Capo, NYC to the fullest! It’s a good thing, shout out to Koch, they giving up that paper, so why not?”

“They say there is not a lot of unity where we come from. [Jim] represents a strong army and I represent a strong army, so there is money to be made,” added Styles P. “ He’s been on the grind a long time, I’ve been on the grind a long time and besides music there isn’t too many artists I bump with in the industry. Me and Jim we’ve had a relationship over the years, we see each other in the hood and we’ve kicked it. Somebody gotta put the city on their back , so we gonna put it on our backs.”

When asked about what he’d do if Hov went to Sony and was an overseer of his project:

“If you remember the movie Backstage [where] Dame Dash was barking on Kevin Liles, If Jay take that position, he will be Kevin Liles and I’ll be barking on him.”

Jim Jones & Juelz Crash Party

-Thursday, November 8th, 2007-

Taking a page from the book of their overly-angry new buddies (the G-Unit camp), Jim Jones and Juelz caused a ruckus when they weren’t allowed into Chris Brown’s album release party. The club was shut down and all the celebrators were sent home. Niggas always gotta ruin shit…

Jim Jones: Hell Rell is just a soldier

After Cam got into it with fif earlier this year there’s been a divide in the Dipset camp. With Jim Jones and Juelz apparently showing allegiance to 50 & G-Unit, Hell Rell and 40 cal have spoken up against Jim on the issue.

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Jim Jones addresses Mr Ruger:

Hell Rell and 40 Cal, that’s a touchy situation. If you listen to Hell Rell, he made a couple of statements that he retracted in his recent interviews. But I heard him on a few more interviews and he refused to say anything crazy out his mouth. Hell Rell is just an artist. If you want to put it in street terms, he’s just a soldier. If you want to put it in chess, he’s just a pawn, you smell me? So his opinion really don’t make no money, regardless how you say it, so the s**t don’t count. He’s like a kid who feels like his parents are going through a divorce, which they’re not. He’s just venting how he feels, but he’s opinionless, really, if you look at it. He had an album coming out, he was trying.

I dunno how the DipHeads are gonna take this, but expect the comments section to be filled with “FuCk Sm3LL R3Ll it’s DipS3t 4lL Day!”.

Jim Jones Inks Deal with Sony?

According to the overactive Asian that is Miss Info, yes, yes he did.

I just left the lawyer’s office. I signed a multimillion dollar joint venture with Sony. My boss is Rick Rubin and Hip Hop (Kyambo Joshua) is doing my albums with me. What you think Jay-Z is gonna think about that?

What’s crazy is that they gave me the same deal that Un and them fucked up back in the day when they got the Sony/Untertainment deal….I got that joint venture, that 50/50 split, they don’t give those out anymore. That’s a Dame Dash, Ruff Ryders deal. And I’m bout to go crazy with it. I’m gonna be a problem.

Looks like Jimmy’s got a shot to blow. I hope he plans to use this deal like say a Ruff Ryders or Dame Dash has done, and bring new artists to the table, because to be honest Jimmy, “We Fly High” had a hot hook, an OK dance, and that’s about it.

Shame he’s in a position to do more for DipSet than Mr. Pink could ever do though. Speaking of, where is that nigga anyways? I heard someone found him.

Oh JJ, You So Crazy!
