Nas, who is typically described as one of the most lyrical MCs ever, is called “sucky” by a dick rider of a rapper that will rhyme the same word 4 consecutive times in a song. Hip Hop just might be dead… Anyway, half the time the jackasses on the news act like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are jokes but when they talk about what another black person is doing they’re a credible source all of a sudden. Plus, you see how they just show the negative shit Nas says and emphasize that. Plenty of rappers from the era he’s from talk about that shit and some of them did it so things would change. Those negative things are apart of everyday life for some people but you rarely hear about it on the news. Rappers like him and Pac and a lot of others shed light on those type situations. He’s not just glorifying that type of shit, he’s portraying a common way of life in some places. Now, if he names it Nigga for the publicity and goes and makes an ignorant fuckin album then he deserves the shit he’s catchin now. But there’s probably something else to it knowing Nas. It was just fucked up that he did this in the midst of everybody tryin to put the word down for good.

I was disturbed by this. The hosts are so conservative that is why listening to someone and not finding knowledge for yourself is a bad thing. I believe Nas can use anything he wants if he feels that Nigga is a way for him to express his talent then he should do so. Everyone wants to change the world, but the world has to change itself. Please no one should get on Nas using the N word in the first place. Have anyone watched Birth of A Nation by D.W. Griffith? this was a terrible story. i hate it when white reporters bring black people on their shows to contribute a black view to their conversations, but completely cut them off, correct them, and discredit them when they don’t see it their way. they purposefully selected Nas’ most violent lyrics to paint him as a villain (i haven’t heard Shoot ‘em Up in forever). i also don’t like the fact that they keep expressing their disapproval of him performing at VT post massacre. if VT thought it was in bad taste, they would have said “No”, it’s not like they don’t know his track record and what he occasionally talks about.
now personally, i really don’t know what Nas is thinking with this album title, but knowing his style, he probably has some message attached to it that will be saved for when the album is released. if not, then one of our greatest has resorted completely to publicity stunts to sell albums, shedding more light to that fact that hip-hop is dead.
the word Nigga is a word that has brought our race such pain and suffering and we have embraced it and made it our own (much like the eating of pig feet and chitterlings). it was fine when white people were using it to degrade our people, but now it’s considered vulgar when we use it. the double standards are breathe taking. and if they want to get technical, since white people sometimes make it so we are put in situations where it’s survival of the fittest (*cough* Reganomics *cough*), we have embraced this culture and also made it our own. i think white people have a problem with us so much because of the simple fact that as a race, we can roll with the punches. give us lemons, we make lemonade.

this was a terrible story. i hate it when white reporters bring black people on their shows to contribute a black view to their conversations, but completely cut them off, correct them, and discredit them when they don’t see it their way. they purposefully selected Nas’ most violent lyrics to paint him as a villain (i haven’t heard Shoot ‘em Up in forever). i also don’t like the fact that they keep expressing their disapproval of him performing at VT post massacre. if VT thought it was in bad taste, they would have said “No”, it’s not like they don’t know his track record and what he occasionally talks about.
now personally, i really don’t know what Nas is thinking with this album title, but knowing his style, he probably has some message attached to it that will be saved for when the album is released. if not, then one of our greatest has resorted completely to publicity stunts to sell albums, shedding more light to that fact that hip-hop is dead.

Because Stillmatic, he was still in the mindset of killing and beef. But then again with Stillmatic he was respondin’ to Jay-Z with ether and got urself. So really since stillmatic nas grew. Illmatic was one of the greatest ALBUMS not hip hop albums, but albums of all time. Not a lot of gun talk on that one, but poetry of what he’s seen. These conservatives, haters of hip hop, and racists just don’t understand and never will. Nas is a genius, and those were stories he was tellin’ not shit he actually did. When Edgar Allen Poe writes his books, people aint have shit to say so SHUT THE FUCK UP! And fuck Nas haters.
I think that Nas should be able to name his album what ever title he want’s to. Do we live in America or what, don’t we have a saying “freedom of speech”. I don’t think it’s right to sensor someone when all they are trying to do is get a message across. I think that Jay-Z, L.A. Reid and Nas should sit down and discuss the magnitude of the title. At the end of the day it is Nas’s album and he should be the one to have the last say so. If not than he should think about finding a new label.
I was pretty upset to see that…. They probably didn’t even review those songs in entirely really try to gain a clue what the song was about.
